What is the difference between a private submeter and a utility revenue meter?
A private submeter measures a downstream circuit on the customer's own reticulation behind the existing supply meter. A utility or municipal revenue meter forms part of the provider's metering and account process and is not treated as ordinary private electrical work.
Who can authorise a private prepaid-meter installation?
The person or entity with authority over the property and relevant private circuit must approve the work. Depending on the property, that may include the owner, landlord, body corporate, HOA, managing agent or another responsible party.
What details are needed for an assessment?
