ELECTRIC FENCE COC · AMBERFIELD
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming before the property handover?+
Tell the seller and Wesslink about the alert rather than leaving it out of the certificate enquiry. Describe when it occurs and which equipment reports it. Electric fence fault finding can be arranged for the relevant authorised installation.
Does an estate name on the certificate make it suitable for my home?+
It still needs to describe the relevant installation. Ask the seller or manager to explain its relationship to the property, particularly if the estate has several developments or separately managed complexes.
Can I use the electrical certificate supplied with the house?+
Send it for review, but ask specifically for the electric fence compliance certificate where a fence is involved. Documents for a house’s electrical installation and its electric fence serve different purposes.
What if no one can find the previous fence certificate?+
Tell Wesslink that the record is unavailable and identify the system as accurately as possible. An inspection can be discussed. Do not assume that a missing document means every component must be replaced.
When can a new certificate be issued?+
An electric fence certificate of compliance follows the required inspection and tests once the applicable requirements are met. If corrections are needed, the responsible customer can consider the findings and quotation before that work proceeds.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
