Need an Electric Fence COC in Beaulieu?

Does the fence work at your Beaulieu property affect a riding route, paddock entrance or area used by horses? Explain that before the visit is booked. Wesslink can discuss the security-fence assessment, authorised electric fence repairs and the inspection needed for an electric fence COC on the relevant installation.

Keep horses, riders and handlers away from damaged security fencing and the work area. Do not lead an animal near the wires to check whether a fence is operating.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Plan the work around the routes horses and people use.

Beaulieu Country Estate has a network of bridle trails and managed external trail gates. Where a property’s fence work is near a trail or riding access point, involve the appropriate estate contact and explain the affected route. A private appointment should not leave riders arriving at an unexpected obstruction or an active maintenance area.

01

A boundary repair is beside a bridle route

Identify the section and tell the estate contact before work is arranged. Discuss the access the technician needs and how riders will be kept clear. Do not use the trail as a convenient storage area for materials without the required agreement or assume riders can safely pass ongoing fence work.

02

A paddock entrance is being moved

Explain the intended movement of horses and handlers, together with any nearby security fence. Ask the appropriate specialists to assess their respective installations and interfaces. A security-fence quotation should not silently include or alter animal-containment fencing that was not identified in the instruction.

03

Ground staff need to work close to the boundary

Coordinate the fence arrangements before mowing, trimming or other maintenance begins beside it. Tell Wesslink what is proposed and who controls the working area. Staff should not move wires or work around damaged fittings in order to finish the grounds task first.

Identify the security fence separately from animal fencing.

A Beaulieu property enquiry should describe the purpose and location of each fence involved. If both a security installation and paddock fencing are present, provide separate records where available and identify the concern accurately. The equipment, intended use and connections require assessment; the presence of horses does not make every electrified fence the same type of installation.

For a proposed electric fence installation, obtain the applicable estate and property approvals before work and show the intended relationship to trails, gates and animal areas. Ask the quotation to identify the completed route, equipment, retained sections and checks. Arrange a final handover with the responsible person before the affected area returns to ordinary use.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · BEAULIEU

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Is your electric fence alarming beside a riding or paddock route?

Keep animals and people clear of the affected area and report the equipment message. Electric fence fault finding can investigate the relevant installation; do not assume an animal caused the warning.

Can a resident arrange work on a shared trail gate or perimeter?

Report it to the responsible estate contact and obtain authority for the work. Private property ownership does not authorise changes to shared equipment.

Can an electric fence compliance certificate cover the security installation at an equestrian property?

Identify the installation and its purpose when booking. Certification depends on the required inspection and passing tests, with the relevant fence and equipment accessible.

Should a paddock fence be included in the same enquiry?

Mention it if it is part of the concern or close to the proposed work. Ask which specialist assessment is required, rather than treating security and animal fencing as interchangeable.

What records should the owner keep?

Retain the approved work, equipment information and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Identify the security installation clearly and keep separate animal-fencing records where applicable.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
