Need an Electric Fence COC in Blackheath?

Need an electric fence COC in Blackheath for a business premises or a home? Wesslink can inspect the fence, investigate a fault and quote for repairs. For a shop or shared commercial property, identify the rear boundary and service entrance involved so the enquiry reaches the person who can authorise work on that installation.

Shop access and perimeter access may involve different keys or contacts. Include the landlord or facilities contact if the fence runs beyond the area occupied by your business.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

A shopfront address may not identify the fence that needs work.

Blackheath Pavilion at Pendoring Road and Beyers Naudé Drive brings together retail and service businesses. At a multi-tenant property, a fence concern may arise beside a delivery area or rear boundary rather than at the public entrance. If an electric fence is fitted, describe the actual route and who manages it before treating the job as a single shop’s repair.

01

A delivery route passes the work area

Explain where vehicles turn, unload and wait. If an impact or gate alteration has affected the fence, describe what happened without handling loose wires. Wesslink can assess the damaged section and the adjoining installation. The property contact should coordinate any temporary change to deliveries during the work.

02

Several shops use the rear yard

Ask the landlord or centre contact to identify the perimeter equipment and arrange the work. Include the units affected and the access that each tenant controls. A shared boundary should not receive conflicting repair instructions from different occupiers, and one shop’s keys may not provide the access needed for inspection.

03

A new tenant is changing the premises

Include external storage, gate or wall changes in the fence enquiry. An electric fence installation or extension needs to be assessed against the proposed use and actual route. Obtain applicable landlord or property approval for alterations before arranging work on the building’s shared perimeter.

Separate a fence repair from the rest of the fit-out.

When requesting electric fence repairs, identify the reported damage, alarm or missing paperwork first. Ask for any proposed upgrade to be shown as a separate item. This makes the quotation useful to both a tenant arranging a move and a landlord maintaining the property, without implying that a fence certificate covers internal shop wiring.

The inspector needs access to the relevant fence route and equipment, including sections behind storage or neighbouring units where they form part of the installation. Arrange access through the responsible contacts. Staff should not remove covers, reach over loaded shelves or shift objects resting against wires to make the site ready.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

For a Blackheath quotation, provide the premises address, tenant or unit reference, affected boundary and the landlord’s contact where relevant. Inspection findings determine the fence repairs required; gate, wall and reinstatement work should be identified separately when outside the agreed electrical fence work.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC · BLACKHEATH

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Can one shop request an electric fence compliance certificate for a centre?

A tenant can report a problem and help arrange access. The owner or managing contact should identify the installation and authorise any inspection of the shared perimeter. The agreed work must state which fence is covered rather than simply naming a shop.

Does an electric fence certificate of compliance include shop wiring?

No. It relates to the fence installation inspected. Internal electrical work and any other certificates requested for a lease or fit-out need to be discussed separately. Tell Wesslink which documents you have been asked for so the enquiry covers the right work.

Is your electric fence alarming near a delivery entrance?

Report the time, location and any recent vehicle or gate activity already observed. Electric fence fault finding can assess the fence and associated equipment. Do not repeatedly operate the gate or move stock against the wires to reproduce the problem.

Can the damaged section be replaced before the whole fence is inspected?

Describe any immediate hazard when contacting Wesslink and keep people clear. The electrician can discuss safe remedial work and the inspection still needed. Repairing one visible section does not automatically establish the condition of the remaining installation.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
