ELECTRIC FENCE COC · BLUE HILLS EQUESTRIAN ESTATE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after a camera installation?+
Report the exact message and work location to management. Authorised electric fence fault finding can assess the installation; do not move cables or fence connections to try to isolate the cause yourself.
Can the camera installer use existing fence brackets?+
The proposed mounting arrangement needs assessment by the appropriate contractors. Do not assume fence components are suitable supports for unrelated equipment.
Who arranges the electric fence compliance certificate for perimeter changes?+
The responsible estate manager should identify the installation and arrange the required access. Certification follows the required inspection and passing tests on the completed arrangement.
Can a resident commission changes to the estate boundary?+
Pass the request to the estate manager and obtain the appropriate authorisation. A private instruction should not bypass management of shared perimeter equipment.
What documents should be retained together?+
Keep the relevant contractors’ work descriptions, findings and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Record outstanding interfaces or follow-up work until completion is confirmed.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
