ELECTRIC FENCE COC · BREAUNANDA
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can I arrange an electric fence compliance certificate enquiry without the old paperwork?+
Yes. Explain what is missing and provide anything available. The installation still needs the appropriate assessment, and any required work must be addressed before certification can be completed.
Who should keep the electric fence certificate of compliance after a family handover?+
Give it to the responsible property record holder and make it available to the incoming owner where relevant. Retain the repair description too, so later questions can be answered from the completed work.
Is your electric fence alarming at an unoccupied Breaunanda home?+
Arrange authorised access and report what the person attending safely observed. Keep people away from damaged wires. Do not ask a neighbour to enter or operate unfamiliar equipment merely to silence the sound.
Must missing records mean a completely new fence?+
No replacement decision should be made from missing paperwork alone. Have the existing installation assessed, then compare the necessary repairs with any proposed replacement and its practical implications.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
