ELECTRIC FENCE COC · CELTISDAL
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming during building work?+
Tell Wesslink what work is underway and when the alert appeared. Electric fence fault finding can check the affected installation. Keep workers away from fence equipment and arrange authorised attendance rather than asking builders to reconnect or adjust it.
Should I wait until the new wall is painted?+
Discuss the fence before the wall is finished. Bracket positions, equipment access and planned changes can affect the work sequence. Wesslink can explain what needs inspection and when a final visit would be appropriate.
Does an electric fence compliance certificate approve the new wall?+
No. The certificate concerns the fence installation. Any building, estate or body-corporate approval required for the wall remains a separate matter to settle with the relevant authority or management.
Can the old certificate be kept after the fence is changed?+
Keep it with the property records and disclose the alterations. Wesslink can assess what inspection and documentation the completed work requires rather than assuming the earlier certificate describes the changed installation.
Can we book certification while the work is unfinished?+
You can enquire and plan the visit, but an electric fence certificate of compliance depends on the completed installation meeting the applicable requirements. Let Wesslink know which construction and fence tasks are still outstanding.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
