Need an Electric Fence COC in Centurion Golf Estate?

Has a sale or boundary project raised a question about an electric fence COC at Centurion Golf Estate? Start with the CHOA: its published guidelines reserve estate-perimeter electric fencing for CHOA installation and maintenance. Wesslink can discuss an inspection when the responsible estate representative authorises it.

The estate’s January 2025 architectural guidelines prohibit electric fencing on private boundary walls and buildings, with the stated exception for CHOA-managed perimeter fencing.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

The perimeter fence is not a private garden upgrade.

Centurion Golf Estate combines residential properties with the Country Club, but their enquiry routes differ. The homeowner office handles estate matters and the club has its own contacts. For fence paperwork or a perimeter concern, identify the residential stand and contact CHOA so the request reaches the people responsible for that installation.

01

A home adjoining the outer perimeter

Tell CHOA exactly which boundary beside your property needs attention. The published exception concerns fencing installed and maintained by CHOA on the estate perimeter. Living beside that section does not make it a separate homeowner installation or give a resident authority to alter it.

02

A fence certificate requested by an agent

Ask the agent or conveyancer to specify the document they need. CHOA can identify the records for its installation. Wesslink can discuss any authorised inspection required; a household electrical certificate and estate fence records should not be treated as interchangeable documents.

03

A wall or landscaping project near the fence

Show CHOA the proposed work before builders start. Keep the fence equipment and its access in the discussion so an approved building project does not proceed on assumptions about relocating wires, brackets or other security equipment. Arrange any necessary fence work through the responsible representative.

Book the inspection through the people responsible for the fence.

For authorised estate work, provide the affected section, any alarm reports, the existing certificate and the planned changes. Wesslink can discuss electric fence fault finding, inspection and corrective work against that information. Access to equipment and the boundary needs to be arranged with CHOA; a golf booking or visitor entry is not the work instruction.

If you are considering electric fence installation on a private wall, speak to CHOA before seeking a design or buying materials. Its published restriction is directly relevant. Electric fence repairs to the shared perimeter likewise need estate instructions. A compliance certificate does not replace approval for building work or change the estate’s fencing rules.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    The energiser and fence circuit

Identify the equipment and the fence sections it supplies, including alterations and gate crossings.

  2. 02

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

For a CHOA-authorised enquiry, the price depends on the section and equipment to be inspected, the access required and any confirmed defects. Identify whether the request is for fault investigation, corrective work or certification. A resident’s transfer query may first need existing estate documents rather than a new private installation quotation.

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Is your electric fence alarming beside the estate perimeter?

Report the time and location to CHOA security. Keep clear of damaged equipment. Wesslink can discuss attendance with the estate’s authorised representative if investigation of that section is requested.

Can I put an electric fence on my own boundary wall?

The published January 2025 guidelines prohibit electric fencing on boundary walls and buildings, except the CHOA-installed and maintained perimeter arrangement. Ask CHOA about your specific proposal before planning any work.

Who should provide an electric fence compliance certificate for a sale?

Ask CHOA about records for the shared perimeter and ask your conveyancer which document is required for the transaction. Wesslink can help with an authorised inspection, but should not assume a separate private system exists at the house.

Can the Country Club arrange residential fence work?

Use the homeowner association’s enquiry route for the residential estate perimeter. If the request concerns club-controlled premises or equipment, identify that separately so the correct customer can commission and approve the work.

What happens if an inspection finds defects?

The responsible customer receives the findings and can consider the necessary corrections. An electric fence certificate of compliance is issued only when the inspected installation meets the applicable requirements; an appointment alone is not a promise of certification.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
