ELECTRIC FENCE COC · CLUBVIEW
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after a tenant moved in?+
Ask for the time, message and any known changes, without attributing the problem to the tenant. Wesslink can arrange electric fence fault finding with the responsible customer and explain what the installation needs.
Does a lease explain which fence is certified?+
A lease can describe responsibilities, but ask for the actual electric fence compliance certificate and installation details. Where several premises share one boundary, clarify how that record relates to the property being occupied.
Can fence certification approve a home-business conversion?+
No. An electric fence certificate of compliance concerns the fence installation. Any planning, building or management permission needed for the change of use is separate and must be handled through the appropriate process.
Should a new operator replace the energiser immediately?+
Discuss the equipment and inspection first. Replacement should follow an identified need, not merely a change in who occupies the property. Provide any user manuals or maintenance records that came with it.
What if a boundary section cannot be reached during the visit?+
Mention that before booking so access can be arranged with the relevant person. The inspection and quotation must be clear about what can actually be inspected rather than treating an inaccessible section as checked.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
