ELECTRIC FENCE COC · COMMERCIA
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after damage to the boundary?+
Keep people clear of the affected area and report the exact warning. Electric fence fault finding can assess the installation alongside the visible damage. Do not reconnect or straighten components to see whether the alarm stops.
Can the fence be repaired before the barrier is restored?+
Ask the contractors to agree an appropriate sequence. Some assessment or preparatory work may happen first, but the finished fence must have the required supporting arrangement and completion checks.
Can I request an electric fence compliance certificate after the repair?+
Discuss it when booking. Certification requires the relevant completed installation to pass the required inspection and tests.
Will a technical report confirm who caused the damage?+
Ask for the observed condition and findings to be recorded. Information about the incident can be supplied separately; do not ask the technician to state an unverified cause or responsibility.
What should management retain once work is finished?+
Keep the repair quotation, completed-work description and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Add the final status of outstanding items and related barrier repairs.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
