ELECTRIC FENCE COC · COUNTRY LANE ESTATE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming while you are away?+
Ask the occupier to report the message and time, then contact Wesslink about electric fence fault finding. If the concern is on the estate perimeter, notify the estate’s security or management team and arrange any attendance through them.
Can an agent collect the electric fence compliance certificate?+
Agree the document recipient when arranging the work. Certification still depends on the relevant inspection and compliant outcome; the agent’s involvement does not change what must be checked.
Should I send my gate code in a general enquiry?+
Start with the address and responsible contact. Arrange any necessary access details through the appropriate estate or property process when the appointment is confirmed, rather than sharing them widely in forwarded messages.
Can the tenant authorise a replacement energiser?+
That depends on the authority the owner has given. Confirm who may approve the quotation before the visit so a recommendation can be considered by the right person without confusion.
What if the inspection finds work I have not budgeted for?+
Ask for the findings and a clear quotation before approving corrections. An electric fence certificate of compliance cannot be issued simply to meet a budget or deadline if the installation does not meet the applicable requirements.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
