ELECTRIC FENCE COC · COUNTRY VIEW
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming as well as showing a battery warning?+
Report both indications and when they appear. Their meaning depends on the installed equipment and condition; arrange an assessment rather than choosing one symptom and ignoring the other.
Can a battery replacement include an electric fence compliance certificate?+
Discuss certification separately when booking. The required inspection and tests cover the relevant installation; replacing one component does not by itself establish a passing result.
Can any battery of the same apparent size be used?+
Provide the equipment and proposed part information to the technician. Suitability must be checked against the installation requirements, rather than judged only by appearance or size.
Should I change settings to prevent repeated warnings?+
Do not alter unfamiliar installer settings to suppress a warning. Save the indication and arrange technical assistance so the underlying concern can be assessed.
What records should follow the repair?+
Keep the findings, parts and completed-work description, plus any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Record the date and symptom if the warning returns.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
