ELECTRIC FENCE COC · CROWTHORNE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming when the garden irrigation runs?+
Record the exact warning and timing, then request an assessment. Do not spray the fence or change equipment to reproduce the symptom. The cause needs investigation before corrective work is chosen.
Can a gardener remove growth caught in the wires?+
Arrange the work safely through the person responsible for the fence. Do not pull growth from live components or ask a gardener to handle wires as part of ordinary maintenance.
Can I book an electric fence compliance certificate after garden alterations?+
Explain the changes and whether the fence was disturbed. The required inspection and tests need to assess the relevant completed installation.
What if the irrigation contractor says the fence is the problem?+
Pass their observations and completed-work description to Wesslink. Ask for the fence findings to be recorded so the appropriate work can be assigned without relying on competing guesses.
Which records should stay with the property?+
Keep the relevant alterations, completed repairs and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Include the affected location so a later recurrence can be compared with the earlier work.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
