ELECTRIC FENCE COC · DIE HOEWES
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming from more than one panel?+
Record the messages and times without operating unfamiliar controls. Wesslink can discuss electric fence fault finding and identify the relevant equipment during authorised attendance. Several alerts do not automatically mean several independent fence faults.
Does each energiser need a separate electric fence compliance certificate?+
Describe the installation and provide the existing documents. The appropriate certification needs to be established from the actual system arrangement, rather than decided by counting devices without inspection.
Can a new managing agent rely on an old invoice?+
The invoice helps explain work performed, but ask for the associated certificate and report where available. It may cover a limited repair rather than a full inspection of the current installation.
Should all trustees attend the inspection?+
Nominate an authorised representative who can provide access and explain the questions. Trustees can agree the work and document recipients beforehand, avoiding several conflicting instructions during the appointment.
What happens to the records after corrections?+
Keep the completed-work description and any electric fence certificate of compliance with the existing history. Make the current record easy for the authorised manager to retrieve, including when another property transfer or maintenance enquiry arises.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
