ELECTRIC FENCE COC · DIEPKLOOF
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate enquiry include a home business entrance?+
Yes. Explain the installation and how the entrance is used. The relevant fence needs assessment, with necessary repairs and inspection addressed before certification can be completed.
Should entrance-related changes stay with the electric fence certificate of compliance?+
Keep the completed fence-work details and relevant documents together. Distinguish electrical alterations from separate signage or building work so later maintenance starts with accurate information.
Is your electric fence alarming when customers arrive?+
Report the symptom and normal activity already observed, without asking anyone to repeat it. Keep the affected area clear and arrange professional assessment of the actual installation.
Can a tenant arrange the proposed fence change?+
Discuss the change with the responsible owner and obtain the approval that applies. Provide that instruction and the intended arrangement when requesting a quotation.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
