ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ELDO GLEN
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming but the cause is unclear?+
Describe the message and what you observed from a safe position. Wesslink can discuss inspection of the relevant system. If the concern is on the estate perimeter, report it through security or management first.
Does an electric fence compliance certificate show where alerts are sent?+
Ask for the user and connection information relevant to the installed equipment as well as the certificate. Certification should not be assumed to establish a particular response-service arrangement or recipient of notifications.
Can a photograph identify a faulty energiser?+
A safe photograph of the label or display can help explain the enquiry. It cannot replace inspection and testing, and the alert may require investigation beyond the visible device.
Should I ask both the fence and alarm contractors to attend?+
Explain which systems and providers are involved first. The responsible customer can then agree whether coordinated attendance is useful and who is authorised to work on each part.
Can a quiet alarm prove the installation is compliant?+
No. An electric fence certificate of compliance follows the appropriate inspection and tests. The absence of an audible alert does not establish the condition of every relevant part of the installation.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
