ELECTRIC FENCE COC · EMMARENTIA
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Does the fence inspector approve my Emmarentia building plans?+
No. Fence inspection and the building-plan process are separate tasks. Use the relevant property and planning professionals for approvals affecting the proposed work.
Must every Emmarentia fence repair go through a heritage application?+
That cannot be decided from the suburb alone. Establish the property facts and proposed work with your adviser; routine fence defects and structural alterations are different scopes.
Can I get a COC before rebuilding the boundary wall?+
Explain the sequence before booking. An inspection concerns the installation present at that time, and subsequent alterations may change what needs assessment or documentation.
Which ERA information is useful when preparing the enquiry?+
Its building-plan guidance helps you identify title deeds, original plans and alteration records. Send Wesslink only the documents or restrictions relevant to the fence work you are requesting.
Is your electric fence alarming after boundary renovations?+
Tell us when the alarms began and what changed during the renovations. Wesslink can inspect the fence and energiser during electric fence fault finding. If repairs involve the wall or entrance, send the relevant title-deed or building-approval conditions.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
