ELECTRIC FENCE COC · FAERIE GLEN
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can a fence need repairs even when no alarm sounds?+
Yes. Report visible damage, loose fittings or other concerns without touching the wires to test them. The inspection should consider the installation rather than the alarm alone.
Should I mention a gate replacement when booking a COC?+
Yes. Give the work date if known and explain what changed around the entrance. Provide the available work record so the affected fence arrangement can be assessed.
Does every Faerie Glen inspection need reserve access?+
No. Reserve permission matters only if the actual inspection or work needs access to its land. Give your own address and describe the boundary involved.
What if the alarm stops before the visit?+
Keep the original message, timing and observations available. Do not deliberately recreate it. An intermittent fault can still need investigation even when the equipment is quiet during attendance.
Can I clear branches outside my property before inspection?+
Confirm the land responsibility and arrange safe authorised clearance. Do not cut against electric wires or assume an inspection booking permits work on someone else's land.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
