ELECTRIC FENCE COC · FERNDALE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Who should request an electric fence compliance certificate for shared business premises?+
The responsible property contact should coordinate the request and identify the installation concerned. A tenant can raise the need, but the owner or manager should arrange access and authority for common-perimeter work.
What should an electric fence certificate of compliance be filed with?+
Keep it with the installation details, relevant repair records and the property’s maintenance documents. Make those records available when the fence changes or a new manager takes over, rather than leaving them only with one departing tenant.
Is your electric fence alarming during deliveries?+
Tell Wesslink what was observed and whether a vehicle, gate or other work was involved. Keep people clear of any damage. Do not reproduce a vehicle movement near the fence to test the theory; the installation needs professional assessment.
Can a private home use the same service?+
Yes. Describe your household’s fence problem and whether the boundary is private or shared. The assessment will relate to your installation; business examples do not mean a home needs the same equipment or repair programme.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
