ELECTRIC FENCE COC · FLORIDA VIEW
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can I request an electric fence compliance certificate inspection if there is no alarm fault?+
Yes. Explain the condition concerns and why you need the inspection. The relevant installation can be assessed and any necessary remedial work identified without waiting for an alarm incident.
Should visible repairs be recorded with the electric fence certificate of compliance?+
Keep the completed-work description and appropriate inspection records with the certificate. Ask what installation was assessed and whether any further work remains, rather than relying only on a photograph of the repaired fitting.
Is your electric fence alarming only occasionally despite obvious damage?+
Report both the intermittent symptom and the visible condition. Keep clear and leave the components unchanged for assessment. Do not deliberately disturb the damaged section to make the alarm occur during a visit.
Do I need to show the technician that a wire is live?+
No. Describe the concern and arrange access. Leave testing and assessment to the professional; touching wires or using an improvised object is not a suitable way to prepare for the enquiry.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
