ELECTRIC FENCE COC · GERHARDSVILLE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming away from the main house?+
Describe the message and known affected area to Wesslink. Electric fence fault finding can be planned with suitable authorised access. Do not walk into restricted areas or touch remote fence sections to locate the fault yourself.
Can one electric fence compliance certificate cover different fence purposes?+
Ask for the installations to be identified and assessed. The appropriate requirements and documents depend on the actual systems; do not assume a security-fence record also certifies a separate animal enclosure.
Must I measure the entire boundary before calling?+
Provide the information you already have and say what is approximate. A drawing or property description can help explain the enquiry. Do not approach wires or inaccessible areas to obtain measurements for a first call.
Can an old extension remain if it still appears to work?+
Disclose it and any available records. Its present condition and relationship to the installation need assessment; appearance or continued operation alone does not settle whether corrections are required.
When is certification possible after repairs?+
An electric fence certificate of compliance depends on the required inspection and tests and a compliant result. Ask the quotation to explain any follow-up inspection needed after the agreed repairs or alterations.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
