ELECTRIC FENCE COC · HEUWELOORD
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after earlier repair work?+
Send the repair description and current alert details to Wesslink. Electric fence fault finding can investigate what is happening now. The timing is useful information, but it does not establish which component needs replacement.
Can I request an electric fence compliance certificate without the old one?+
Explain that the earlier document is unavailable and provide any repair invoices or equipment details you have. Wesslink can discuss inspection of the existing installation and what records will be needed.
Does a new energiser mean the entire fence is certified?+
Ask what was inspected and documented at that visit. An equipment replacement invoice is not a complete description of the fence’s present compliance or the extent of any tests performed.
Should I remove an unfamiliar box before the appointment?+
Leave it in place and tell Wesslink where it is. Do not open, disconnect or alter equipment to simplify the inspection. Its role can be considered during authorised attendance.
What should I keep after the work?+
Retain the invoice, explanation of alterations and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Keep these together rather than discarding earlier records that explain how the installation changed.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
