ELECTRIC FENCE COC · HIGHVELD
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after backup-power work?+
Record the alert wording and when it occurs, then contact Wesslink. Electric fence fault finding can examine the relevant installation. Do not change supply connections or repeatedly interrupt power to recreate the problem.
Which documents should I send after supply work?+
Provide the earlier fence record and the recent work description. Ask what assessment is needed for an electric fence compliance certificate for the resulting installation.
Can the energiser be relocated to a more convenient room?+
Discuss the proposed position before moving it. The installation, supply, maintenance access and any applicable approvals need assessment; convenience alone is not enough to choose the location.
Should I buy a replacement energiser before an inspection?+
Describe the symptoms and existing equipment first. A quotation based on the findings can distinguish a repair from replacement instead of committing to a part that may not resolve the problem.
When should the final fence document be arranged?+
Discuss the sequence before related work starts. An electric fence certificate of compliance depends on the required inspection and tests of the completed installation, with any identified corrections addressed.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
