ELECTRIC FENCE COC · HOEKPLAATS
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming on a shared boundary?+
Tell the person responsible for the installation and record the alert details. Electric fence fault finding can be arranged with authorised access. Do not enter another occupied area or alter equipment to investigate it yourself.
What property details are needed for the electric fence compliance certificate enquiry?+
Provide the street, farm or portion reference, the responsible owner’s details and a description of the fence concerned. Explain any uncertainty about the work area before an inspection or alteration is arranged.
Can Wesslink quote from a location pin alone?+
A pin can assist with finding the site, but add the property reference, work description and authorised contact. If the exact fence position is undecided, explain that before requesting an installation price.
Can urgent repairs include moving a boundary fence?+
Describe the proposed move explicitly and resolve the necessary permissions first. A fault report does not by itself authorise a different fence route or entry into neighbouring land.
What follows an authorised inspection?+
Wesslink can explain the findings and any proposed corrections. An electric fence certificate of compliance can only follow the required inspection and tests with a compliant result; it does not approve unrelated property arrangements.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
