ELECTRIC FENCE COC · HORISON PARK
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can I request an electric fence compliance certificate for a partly dismantled installation?+
Explain the actual condition and intended final arrangement. The relevant installation and required work need assessment; incomplete dismantling or reinstatement should not be presented as a finished compliant fence.
What happens to the old electric fence certificate of compliance records after removal?+
Retain the historical documents with the completed-work description so the change is clear. Ask the professional what records are appropriate for the resulting installation rather than treating an older certificate as a description of later alterations.
Is your electric fence alarming after part of it was removed?+
Report the symptom and the dismantling work known to have occurred. Keep clear of loose or unidentified components and do not reconnect them. Arrange assessment of the remaining installation.
Can the building contractor clear away the remaining cables?+
Have the electrical condition established and the appropriate work arranged first. A cable should not be treated as harmless building waste because part of the fence has disappeared.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
