ELECTRIC FENCE COC · HORISON
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate enquiry follow repairs after suspected tampering?+
Yes. Explain the damage and the work performed or proposed. The relevant installation needs assessment and any necessary remedial work must be completed before certification can be finalised.
Should incident-related repairs stay with the electric fence certificate of compliance?+
Keep the completed technical work description and inspection information with the fence records. Store incident or claim correspondence separately where appropriate, without confusing an allegation about cause with a confirmed technical finding.
Is your electric fence alarming after wires were disturbed?+
Keep people away and report the affected area. Leave the installation untouched for assessment. Do not bridge a break, handle loose wire or change settings to silence the alarm.
Can a repair quote prove that someone deliberately damaged the fence?+
The quotation can describe observed condition and proposed work. Questions about who acted or why need the appropriate evidence and investigation; do not treat a technical repair description as proof of an unestablished cause.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
