Need an Electric Fence COC in Horizon View?

Extending the fenced area around a new outbuilding or yard at your Horizon View property? Describe the whole intended perimeter before ordering extra wire. Wesslink can discuss electric fence installation, necessary electric fence repairs and the assessment required for an electric fence COC.

Do not connect an added section to the existing fence yourself. The intended arrangement and retained equipment need professional assessment before an extension is agreed.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

An enlarged perimeter needs more information than added metres.

Horizon View is separately named from Horison and Horison Park, so include the full address on plans and enquiries. If your property is gaining a workshop, store or enlarged yard, show the proposed finished boundary and entrances. The assessment should consider the resulting installation, rather than only the length of the new section.

01

A new building changes the perimeter route

Explain where the fence will run in relation to the completed structure and access routes. Ask the relevant contractors to coordinate supports and connections before finishes close the area. Do not assume the old route can simply continue around any new building detail.

02

The existing energiser is to be retained

Provide model information and available installation records. Ask whether the proposed use of existing equipment is suitable for the finished arrangement. A larger perimeter should not be connected on the strength of an unverified assumption about capacity or compatibility.

03

The old fence already has a fault

Report that concern separately from the extension request. Electric fence fault finding can investigate the existing installation while the new work is planned. Adding a section should not conceal an unresolved defect or make the completed quotation unclear about repairs to the original fence.

Describe how old and new work will be handed over.

Ask the proposal to distinguish retained sections, alterations, new components and repairs. Include any new entrances and the practical maintenance access needed around the added building. If construction must finish before part of the installation can be assessed, have the remaining step clearly identified rather than assuming it is included in an earlier visit.

Obtain applicable owner or shared-property approval before altering the boundary. Keep the final work description and relevant inspection documents together. Normal operating information should reflect the completed arrangement, so future users do not rely on instructions or drawings from before the perimeter was enlarged.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

A Horizon View quotation should be based on the intended finished installation and the condition of what is retained. Provide the layout, known equipment and current faults. Ask which assessment, connections, supports and follow-up are included, and keep building work or gate automation separately identified where relevant.

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Can an electric fence compliance certificate enquiry cover a perimeter extension?

Yes. Explain the existing and proposed arrangement before work begins. The relevant installation needs assessment, with any necessary repairs and completion checks addressed before certification is finalised.

Should an updated layout stay with the electric fence certificate of compliance?

Keep useful completed-layout and work information with the relevant documents. Make sure it describes what was actually installed rather than an early proposal that changed during building work.

Is your electric fence alarming after a yard extension?

Report the symptom and which parts were changed. Leave connections and settings alone for assessment. Do not disconnect the new section yourself to try to identify the cause.

Can the quotation be based only on the extra fence length?

Length is useful, but provide the intended route, entrances and existing equipment too. The professional needs to assess the whole relevant arrangement before confirming the work required.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
