ELECTRIC FENCE COC · JOHANNESBURG NORTH
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can one electric fence compliance certificate cover several buildings?+
The relevant question is which fence installation is being inspected. Explain the property arrangement and provide existing records. Wesslink can assess the system concerned without deciding the certificate scope from the number of occupants.
Which tenant should keep the electric fence certificate of compliance?+
The responsible owner or manager should retain the property’s fence records and provide relevant information to occupants. Keep maintenance and access arrangements clear when an individual tenant leaves.
Is your electric fence alarming at the cottage but not the main house?+
Report exactly what each occupant notices, including different indicators or sounds. Wesslink can investigate the fence arrangement. Do not connect systems together or transfer power leads between buildings to compare their behaviour.
Can a tenant arrange the first enquiry?+
Yes. A tenant can describe the concern and provide available information. Work on shared equipment should be authorised by the responsible owner or managing contact, who can also arrange access to the full relevant installation.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
