ELECTRIC FENCE COC · KELLAND
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can a shared fence receive an electric fence compliance certificate?+
Discuss the relevant installation and arrange authorised access for inspection. Required defects need attention before certification. The responsible contact should make sure the request covers the actual fence rather than only one resident’s visible section.
Who receives the electric fence certificate of compliance after shared work?+
Agree the responsible record holder when the job is instructed and ensure the relevant owners or manager can access the document. Retain it with the installation and repair records.
Is your electric fence alarming and the neighbours disagree about the cause?+
Pass on the observations without choosing a diagnosis. Electric fence fault finding can assess the system and explain the findings. Do not disconnect one side or alter settings to demonstrate that another property is responsible.
Will Wesslink decide how neighbours split the bill?+
The responsible parties should agree their financial arrangements. Wesslink can describe the inspected defects and quoted work so the decision is informed. Ownership or payment disputes may need separate advice from the appropriate professional.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
