ELECTRIC FENCE COC · KYALAMI ESTATES
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Does a repair to one Kyalami Estates fence zone certify the entire perimeter?+
A repair and a certificate must each have a clear scope. Ask what installation was inspected and what the resulting paperwork covers. A component replacement alone does not demonstrate that every part of a larger system was assessed.
Should I send my home alarm code with the enquiry?+
No. Describe the problem and provide a contact who can arrange authorised access. Sensitive operating credentials should be handled through the agreed on-site process, not included in an ordinary quotation message.
Can the inspector arrive using a resident’s access code?+
Confirm the estate’s current contractor requirements for the specific appointment. A visitor invitation does not settle the authority to work on shared security equipment or provide access to its enclosures.
What if I only know which house is near the fault?+
Provide that location to the estate security team and explain what you observed from a safe position. They can identify the relevant system reference. Do not approach, disconnect or test the wires to obtain more detail.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
