ELECTRIC FENCE COC · LAUDIUM
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming near a new stairway?+
Keep people away from the installation and give Wesslink the alert details and alteration history. Electric fence fault finding can investigate the issue; do not touch wires or move building materials against them to find a cause.
Can an old electric fence compliance certificate cover a changed layout?+
Disclose the changes and ask for the present arrangement to be assessed. The previous document helps explain the history but does not answer every question raised by later building alterations.
Does the fence have to be moved whenever a passage changes?+
The actual arrangement needs inspection. Do not assume relocation is always necessary or that leaving the fence untouched is automatically acceptable; discuss the findings and proposed correction.
Can a tenant commission changes beside a shared entrance?+
Obtain the appropriate owner or manager’s authority for work affecting shared areas. Explain the proposed change and the tenant’s role when booking rather than relying on access to the premises alone.
When should the final certificate be requested?+
Coordinate inspection after relevant building and fence work is complete. Any electric fence certificate of compliance depends on the required inspection and tests and a compliant result for the resulting installation.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
