ELECTRIC FENCE COC · MARAISBURG
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate enquiry include an intermittent closing-time warning?+
Yes. Explain the concern and the ordinary circumstances in which it was noticed. The relevant installation can be assessed, with required repairs and further inspection identified before certification is completed.
Where should the electric fence certificate of compliance be kept for leased business premises?+
Confirm the responsible owner or property record holder and keep the document linked to the relevant installation. Staff handling faults should know where to request the information when a repair enquiry arises.
Is your electric fence alarming as staff leave for the day?+
Keep staff clear of the installation and report the warning and location. Use the appropriate responsible contact for immediate arrangements. Do not disable components or repeat gate movements to try to finish the closing routine without the warning.
Can the repair enquiry proceed if only one staff member heard the alarm?+
Yes. Provide that person’s actual observation and the available property information. More witnesses are not required to start an enquiry, and staff should not attempt to recreate the symptom for confirmation.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
