ELECTRIC FENCE COC · MIDFIELD ESTATE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming near a Midfield common area?+
Report the time and location to estate security. For authorised electric fence fault finding, management can provide the relevant alert record and access. Residents should not investigate inside the perimeter or attempt to silence shared equipment.
What photograph helps explain a visible fence defect?+
Use a picture taken from an ordinarily accessible, safe position that shows the location as well as the concern. Do not approach wires, climb or enter restricted areas to obtain a closer image.
Can a repair quotation cover more than the first reported fitting?+
Ask the technician to inspect the affected section and explain related findings. Additional work should be described and approved rather than assumed from the original resident report.
Who holds the electric fence compliance certificate for a shared system?+
Start with the HOA or responsible system manager. Provide the reason for the request and the installation concerned so the relevant record or inspection can be identified.
How should completed repairs be recorded?+
Keep the locations, work description and findings together, with any electric fence certificate of compliance issued after the required inspection and tests. That record helps the next technician distinguish completed repairs from a new report.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
