ELECTRIC FENCE COC · MIDSTREAM ESTATE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is an Electric Fence COC for Midstream Estate the same as the house’s electrical COC?+
No. They describe different installations. If your transfer checklist asks for both, identify the fence system and establish who holds its records. An estate-managed perimeter should not automatically be described as a private installation at your home.
Can I use information for Midstream Ridge when my home is in Midstream Estate?+
Use the exact estate named in your documents. Greater Midstream contains individual estates with their own HOAs. The correct office and system reference matter when requesting records or arranging access for an inspection.
Does the electricity supplier change the need for a fence certificate?+
The supplier’s name does not replace inspection and certification requirements for an electric fence. MES’s role is relevant when identifying a supply problem; the fence installation and its compliance still need to be considered separately.
Can you promise a certificate before seeing the fence?+
No. An inspection enquiry is not a guarantee that a certificate can immediately be issued. The registered installer must assess the relevant system, and defects affecting compliance must be resolved before certification.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
