ELECTRIC FENCE COC · MIDSTREAM HILL
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after wires were repaired?+
Give the responsible manager the alert details and completed-work description. Electric fence fault finding can assess the remaining issue. Do not assume that another energiser is needed before the installation and previous repairs are checked.
Must an energiser be replaced whenever wires are renewed?+
The condition and suitability of both need assessment. Ask the technician to explain why equipment can be retained or why replacement is required for the proposed arrangement.
What should I look for in a fence repair quotation?+
Look for the affected section, identified defects, proposed corrections and checks after the work. Equipment changes should be explained, with optional improvements distinguished from the work needed to address the findings.
Does a repair invoice provide an electric fence compliance certificate?+
Ask which documents are included in the agreed work. An invoice records the repair supplied; certification requires the relevant inspection and tests and a compliant result.
What if the inspection finds more damaged fittings?+
Ask for the additional findings and quotation before approving further work. Keep the final description with any electric fence certificate of compliance issued so the manager knows what was corrected and what equipment remains.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
