ELECTRIC FENCE COC · MNANDI
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming while you consider an extension?+
Report the current problem as well as the proposed change. Electric fence fault finding can establish what needs correction before the existing installation is relied on as part of a larger system.
Can I request an electric fence compliance certificate for a new installation?+
Include certification in the enquiry and ask how the final inspection will be arranged. A certificate depends on the completed installation passing the required inspection and tests.
Is a wall-top fence always cheaper than freestanding fencing?+
The actual wall condition, route, supporting work and equipment affect the quotation. Compare complete proposals for your property instead of assuming one construction type is always the lower-cost option.
Should I buy an energiser before the fence layout is decided?+
Agree the proposed installation first and ask for suitable equipment to be specified. Choosing a component before the route and requirements are assessed can make meaningful quotation comparisons harder.
What should I receive when the new fence is handed over?+
Ask for normal operating guidance, equipment information and the completed-work record, with any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Keep the layout and documents for future maintenance or alterations.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
