NEW GATE WORK · PERIMETER CONNECTIONS · FENCE FAULTS

Need an Electric Fence COC in Montgomery Park?

Has your Montgomery Park gate been replaced while the electric fence still needs attention? Wesslink can inspect the fence arrangement and explain the work required. Tell us about the gate project when requesting electric fence repairs or an electric fence COC, even if a different contractor handled the entrance.

A gate opening and closing normally does not confirm the electric fence condition. Treat the two systems as separate enquiries until the relevant work has been assessed.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Finish both parts of an entrance project.

For a Montgomery Park home changing its driveway entrance, the gate contractor and fence technician may attend at different stages. Show Wesslink the finished opening and explain what happened to the fence wires and connections during the work. If no one knows, say so rather than assuming everything was reconnected as before.

01

The gate is new but the fence is unchanged

Describe how the entrance changed and provide any work records. Ask for the fence at the opening and the relevant installation to be assessed. Do not decide that retaining the old wires means the alteration had no effect on the fence.

02

The fence was temporarily disconnected

Tell the technician who disconnected it and whether it has been put back into operation. Do not reconnect loose parts yourself or ask the gate user to test the wires. Keep the affected area clear and arrange the appropriate fence work.

03

You are still choosing the new entrance

Include the proposed gate position, size and surrounding wall changes in the discussion. An electric fence installation needs to be considered with the finished entrance. Obtain applicable shared-property approvals before committing to changes that affect a common perimeter.

Ask each contractor for a clear description of their work.

Keep the gate installation record and fence findings together, while distinguishing what each covers. If an alarm began during the project, provide the timing without attributing the cause. Electric fence fault finding can investigate the fence, and any separate motor or access-control problem can be directed to the appropriate contractor.

At completion, ask whether the fence-related work has been checked and whether any item remains outstanding. Make sure the person responsible for the property receives the available operating information. If temporary arrangements were used during construction, explain them to the inspector rather than allowing them to become an undocumented permanent part of the installation.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

    Earthing and physical condition

Inspect the earth system, wires, joints, brackets and insulators, together with the installation’s condition.

  3. 03

    Warning signs and accessible areas

Check the safety provisions around the fence, including signs and places where people can approach it.

  4. 04

    Testing, corrections and certification

Explain defects found, agree the repair work and complete the checks needed before certification.

ELECTRIC FENCE COC COSTS

Get a quote for the fence you actually have.

A Montgomery Park entrance repair quote needs the current fence condition and the work already performed. Explain whether you need an assessment after gate work, repairs to a known damaged section or a new fence arrangement. Ask which fence components and follow-up checks are included, with unrelated gate work identified separately.

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Does a gate invoice replace an electric fence compliance certificate?

No. The gate invoice records the work billed by that contractor. Ask for the relevant fence inspection and certification separately, and provide the gate details as background to the assessment.

Can an earlier electric fence certificate of compliance still be useful?

Yes, keep it and explain the entrance changes. It helps describe the previous installation, while the current arrangement needs assessment. Do not edit the document to make it appear to cover later work.

Is your electric fence alarming when the new gate moves?

Report the sequence you have already noticed. Do not operate the gate repeatedly to reproduce the fault or move wires out of its way. Wesslink can assess the fence concern and explain any coordination needed.

Can the fence technician speak to the gate contractor?

Provide the relevant contact and work information when coordination is needed. Agree who authorises each job and receives the findings. This is particularly useful when part of the entrance work remains unfinished.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
