ELECTRIC FENCE COC · MONTROUX
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate be promised from a defect list alone?+
The installation and completed remedial work need the appropriate assessment. An earlier report can guide the enquiry, but conditions or access may have changed. Ask what inspection remains before certification.
Should the electric fence certificate of compliance be included in every repair quotation?+
State explicitly that certification is required and ask what the quotation includes. A repair-only instruction and an inspection for certification are different requests, even when some work overlaps.
Is your electric fence alarming after items on the list were repaired?+
Provide the repair record and current symptoms. Electric fence fault finding can assess the remaining concern. Do not assume that a recurring alarm proves every earlier repair failed or that the next step must be full replacement.
Can I approve only part of the quoted work?+
Discuss the consequences and any outstanding defects with Wesslink before deciding. The work record should make a partial instruction clear. Do not expect an incomplete repair programme to be represented as a completed certification assessment.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
