TEMPORARY DISPLAYS · APPROVED WORK · FENCE REINSTATEMENT

Need an Electric Fence COC in Northgate Shopping Centre?

Planning a temporary display or promotional installation that may affect a fence near Northgate Shopping Centre? Identify the property and get the proposed work approved before setup. Wesslink can discuss electric fence repairs and an electric fence COC enquiry where an authorised installation needs assessment.

Exhibitors and temporary suppliers must not alter common fence equipment. Centre-controlled work needs the responsible management instruction; nearby independent premises need their own owner’s approval.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Include removal and reinstatement in the temporary-work plan.

Northgate Shopping Centre advertises exhibition opportunities and identifies its location at Northumberland and Olievenhout Avenue. If your approved display, delivery or temporary arrangement affects a fence at the relevant premises, show the responsible manager the intended setup. Explain what will happen when the display is removed as well as what is needed to put it in place.

01

A supplier wants to fix temporary material near the boundary

Show the proposed location and fixing method to the responsible property contact. Do not attach banners, supports or cables to electrical fence components. Ask whether fence assessment or another contractor’s work is needed before the setup is agreed.

02

Equipment has been moved to make room

Report what was changed and who arranged it. Electric fence fault finding can assess a resulting concern, while reinstatement needs a clear instruction. Do not let an exhibitor or delivery team reconnect components merely because they originally moved them aside.

03

The display is leaving and a concern remains

Identify the affected section before the supplier departs. Ask who will arrange the appropriate assessment and repairs. The removal of temporary material should not leave an electrical item unfinished or a warning unexplained once the event team has gone.

Keep the permanent installation clear throughout the temporary job.

The responsible property contact should know which fence, if any, is affected by the proposal. A centre exhibition booking does not by itself describe electrical work at an outside boundary. For an independent property nearby, provide its actual address and installation details so the enquiry is directed to the correct premises.

For a permanent new electric fence installation or an alteration, obtain the applicable property and management approval and discuss it separately from the temporary display. Keep completed-work information and normal operating instructions with the responsible owner. Any temporary arrangement that still needs correction should remain clear in the handover until it has been addressed.

INSPECTION & TESTING

What does an electric fence COC inspection cover?

A working energiser is one part of the system. The inspection also considers the fence installation, its safety provisions and the test results.

An electric fence certificate follows inspection and testing by a registered person. Defects affecting compliance must be corrected before certification. Read Regulations 12–13 ↗

Questions before you book.

Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.

Can an electric fence compliance certificate enquiry be arranged after temporary work?

Yes. Explain any components moved or altered and provide the work history. The relevant installation needs assessment, with necessary repairs and inspection addressed before certification can be completed.

Should temporary-work repairs stay with the electric fence certificate of compliance?

Keep the relevant completed-work details with the permanent installation records. Identify what was restored or changed so the property manager has a clear account after the display supplier leaves.

Is your electric fence alarming after a display was set up?

Report the warning and known work through the responsible property contact. Keep people clear and arrange assessment. Do not pull material away from wires or repeat the setup to investigate.

Can an exhibition supplier authorise changes to a common fence?

The responsible owner or centre management needs to approve the actual fence work. Make that instruction explicit before alteration, with the appropriate electrical professional involved.

Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?

A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.

Will the inspection fee include repairs?

Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
