ELECTRIC FENCE COC · PIERRE VAN RYNEVELD
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after damage to a wall or post?+
Keep people away from the affected area and contact Wesslink. Electric fence fault finding can be coordinated with the necessary support repairs. Do not handle fallen wires or try to restore the fence yourself.
Can the fence be repaired before the wall is assessed?+
Explain the structural concern first. The relevant professionals need to agree what work can safely proceed and what support repairs are required before the final fence arrangement is completed.
Does every damaged bracket require a new fence?+
Ask for the affected components and supporting structure to be inspected. The findings should explain whether a local repair is appropriate or whether more extensive work is needed.
When should the electric fence compliance certificate be arranged?+
Discuss the sequence before wall and fence work begins. The required inspection and tests must relate to the completed installation, with identified defects corrected.
What records should follow a rebuilt boundary section?+
Retain the building and fence work descriptions, applicable approvals and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Include how the rebuilt section connects to the retained fence.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
