ELECTRIC FENCE COC · RIETVLEI HEIGHTS
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming while other estate equipment is also affected?+
Report the separate symptoms and times to management. Authorised technicians can investigate the relevant systems together. Do not assume the fence energiser needs replacement simply because several services stopped.
What if the internet is restored but the fence warning remains?+
Report the remaining fence symptom to the responsible manager. The fence still needs its own assessment where a warning or defect persists; restoration of an unrelated service is not the completion check.
How should two providers coordinate a shared-equipment visit?+
Agree who will investigate each reported symptom and which changes need to be communicated between technicians. Management should receive the fence findings and know whether any further work depends on the other provider.
Who should request an electric fence compliance certificate for shared equipment?+
The responsible owner or manager should identify the installation and arrange the appropriate inspection. A resident can forward the document request and property reference to that contact.
What should management receive after the investigation?+
Ask for the fence findings, completed work and any outstanding dependencies, with any electric fence certificate of compliance issued after the required checks. Keep this information alongside other changes made in the equipment area.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
