ELECTRIC FENCE COC · RIETVLEI RIDGE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming after wildlife was seen nearby?+
Report both observations to estate security. Authorised electric fence fault finding can investigate the installation. Keep away from the animal and wires, and do not change fence settings in response to an assumed cause.
Should visible damage be reported if the alarm is quiet?+
Yes. Give the location and a safe description to the responsible manager. The physical fence and relevant equipment need assessment even if you did not hear or receive an alert.
Can a resident arrange a perimeter repair independently?+
Send the report to estate management so the responsible party can commission and coordinate the work. A shared installation needs the appropriate authority and access arrangements.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate be requested after repairs?+
Include that requirement when the work is discussed. The relevant installation must pass the required inspection and tests before certification can be completed.
What should accompany the final repair record?+
Keep the affected-section description, completed corrections and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Include approved boundary changes so a later inspection can be matched to the current arrangement.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
