ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ROODEKRANS
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can I arrange an electric fence compliance certificate after an obstruction is removed?+
Yes. Explain what happened and what work was done. The relevant installation still needs assessment, with necessary repairs and inspection completed before certification can be finalised.
What belongs with the electric fence certificate of compliance after repairs?+
Retain the relevant completed-work information and identify the affected section. A description of what was repaired is more useful for future maintenance than a note saying only that the fence was cleared.
Is your electric fence alarming near a branch or unfamiliar object?+
Keep clear and report both the alarm and what you can already see. Do not remove the object to test whether the warning stops. Arrange professional assessment of the fence and any separate removal work needed.
Should I trim the area before the technician arrives?+
Explain the obstruction first and agree safe arrangements with the relevant professionals. Do not work close to wires or assume gardening tools make that task safe.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
