ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ROODEPOORT CBD
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can a tenant request an electric fence compliance certificate inspection?+
A tenant can raise the enquiry. For a common installation, ask the responsible owner or manager to confirm the instruction and arrange access to the relevant parts of the property.
Who should retain the electric fence certificate of compliance for a shared perimeter?+
Keep it with the responsible property records, together with the completed-work details. Occupiers who need information should be directed to the current installation record rather than different copies with unexplained changes.
Is your electric fence alarming while other businesses are closed?+
Report the symptom to the responsible property contact and arrange the required access. Do not enter a closed tenant area or manipulate unfamiliar equipment to silence the warning.
Can one quotation include several tenants’ reported concerns?+
Yes. Identify each concern and the installation involved. Ask which investigation and repairs are included so the owner can make a coordinated decision without assuming all reports have the same cause.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
