ELECTRIC FENCE COC · ROODEPOORT NORTH
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate enquiry include a battery warning?+
Yes. Mention the warning before attendance. The relevant installation needs assessment and necessary repairs must be addressed; buying a new component is not a substitute for the inspection.
Should component replacement be recorded with the electric fence certificate of compliance?+
Retain the completed-work information with the fence documents. It should be clear what was fitted and what assessment or further work was carried out, without relying only on a purchase receipt.
Is your electric fence alarming with a battery message?+
Report both indications and leave the equipment unchanged. Do not disconnect components or repeatedly reset the system to see whether the message returns. Arrange professional assessment.
Can I ask for a repair quote without knowing the equipment model?+
Yes. Give the address, symptom and information you already have. Explain that the model is unknown; do not open an enclosure or handle equipment just to obtain a label photograph.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
