ELECTRIC FENCE COC · SAMRAND
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming while a later phase is under construction?+
Report the warning and known nearby work. Electric fence fault finding can assess the current installation without assuming construction is the cause.
Can one quotation cover all phases?+
It can describe agreed phases, but each should identify the work, timing assumptions and completion arrangements. Ask for undefined future work to remain clearly separate.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate be issued for a completed phase?+
Discuss the actual installation being completed and the required inspection. The inspector must establish the assessable arrangement and compliant result; unfinished work should not be presented as complete.
Should retained equipment be checked before expansion?+
Ask for its condition and suitability to be assessed alongside the proposed additions. The extension should be planned around verified existing equipment.
How should the electric fence certificate of compliance be filed?+
Keep it with the completed phase description and later changes, so the facilities team can identify which installation was assessed at each stage.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
