ELECTRIC FENCE COC · STRIJDOM PARK
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Does my unit number identify the whole fence installation?+
Not necessarily. Give the property address and explain whether the fence serves the unit alone or a wider park. The actual scope needs to be confirmed.
Can we remove our additions before the landlord inspects?+
Agree reinstatement with the responsible property contact first. Where additions involve the fence, establish their connections and arrange suitable work rather than leaving the next occupier an unexplained change.
Will a defect report decide a landlord–tenant payment dispute?+
It describes the technical findings and proposed work. Allocation of contractual costs remains a separate matter for the parties and their advisers.
Can the outgoing business keep the only certificate copy?+
Agree a durable property record with the owner or authorised manager. A copy held solely in a closed tenant’s files may be difficult for future occupiers to retrieve.
Is your electric fence alarming after tenant equipment was moved?+
Tell us what equipment was moved and when the alarms began. When booking electric fence fault finding, send the landlord-approved reinstatement instructions. Wesslink can check the affected fence equipment and report any repairs needed for the responsible property contact to approve.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
