ELECTRIC FENCE COC · SUMMERFIELDS ESTATE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming before a maintenance tender is finalised?+
Report the current problem to estate management and discuss any authorised investigation required. Electric fence fault finding can establish the issue while the responsible estate process handles appointment and repair approval.
What makes two repair quotations comparable?+
Give contractors the same findings and requested work, then check exclusions, retained equipment and completion checks. Ask for differences to be explained rather than comparing totals for unlike proposals.
Should an electric fence compliance certificate be listed in the quotation request?+
Yes, where certification is required, state that clearly. Ask for the relevant inspection and tests to be included and for any corrections needed before certification to be explained.
Can optional equipment upgrades be priced separately?+
Ask for the required repairs and optional changes to be distinguished, with the purpose and completion checks for each. This lets the estate assess the benefit without losing track of the original defects.
What should the estate retain when work is complete?+
Keep the accepted proposal, findings, completed-work record and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Include updated equipment details and any agreed follow-up items for the responsible manager.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
