ELECTRIC FENCE COC · THATCHFIELD GLEN
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming while the neighbour sees no problem?+
An absent visible defect does not resolve the warning. Request electric fence fault finding and provide both observations. Leave testing and adjustments to the person assessing the installation.
Can one neighbour book the entire repair?+
The person instructing the work needs authority over the affected installation and access. Agree who approves and pays for the repair before attendance, particularly if the equipment serves more than one property.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate be issued after only the accessible side is checked?+
Explain the access limitation in advance. The required inspection and tests must be completed; ask what access or further work is needed rather than treating an incomplete visit as certification.
What if the repair needs a different fence position?+
Ask for the proposed change in writing and obtain the applicable HOA and neighbour approvals before installation. Retain the agreed arrangement with the job records.
What should remain on file after the repair?+
Keep the location, completed work and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Include revised approvals where the arrangement changed, so a future visit can identify the correct fence.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
