ELECTRIC FENCE COC · TWIN RIVERS ESTATE, IRENE
Questions before you book.
Practical answers for owners, sellers and property managers.
Is your electric fence alarming while visitors are on the premises?+
Keep people away from the affected boundary and report the exact warning. Electric fence fault finding can investigate the installation. Use the premises’ security procedure separately if there is an immediate security concern.
Can fence wires be used to support temporary screening?+
Do not attach items to electric-fence wires or supports. Discuss a separate suitable arrangement and have any proposed work near the fence assessed before setup.
Can an electric fence compliance certificate be arranged around other property work?+
Explain the sequence when booking. The required inspection and tests must address the completed installation and any relevant changes around it.
What if the boundary belongs to the estate?+
Report the location to the responsible manager and obtain authority for technical attendance. A property host should not instruct changes to shared equipment on behalf of the whole estate.
What records help the next maintenance visit?+
Keep the approved changes, work description and any electric fence certificate of compliance issued. Include the outdoor layout relevant to the inspection and details of any later alterations.
Who can issue an electric fence certificate of compliance?+
A registered electric fence system installer may issue an electric fence compliance certificate after the required inspection and testing. An ordinary electrical COC is a separate document.
Will the inspection fee include repairs?+
Ask for the inspection, any repairs and any return visit to be itemised in the quote. The work required depends on what is found; a price should not assume that the fence will pass before it has been inspected.
